大学の数学科に籍を置いていたというのに、高校までの数学しかイメージできない。「数学科、すごいね」と言われるたびに、「数学は哲学」なんて、煙に巻いていた。

50年のブランクを経て、事もあろうに、数学者長岡亮介先生

（NPO法人TECUM　https://www.tecummath.net/　理事長）にご指導いただくチャンスを得た。テキストはI.Kleiner著「A History of Abstract Algebra」。1700BCの数学から20世紀抽象代数への４千年の歴史を学ぶことになった。（牛山順江）
